Not great news in Scotland for the Liberal Democrats who are down a whopping 11% points in the latest YouGov poll, info of which can be found here, has the Nats on 31%, up 13 points, Labour on 35%, down five, the Tories on 17%, up 1%, with the Lib Dems on 12% and other on 4%. It’s fairly tricky to work out seat numbers, due to no overall swings etc, but roughly that would give the SNP 15 seats, Labour 32 seats, the Tories 3 and the Liberal Democrats 9, down 3 from 2005. That's my math, I'm sure others will be able to do it better so feel free to correct any mistakes in the numbers.

Good find STB, I didn't realise a poll came out today.
Nats are riding high which is always good to see. The UK election can't come quick enough for them.
They have a bit of a dilemma though:
(1) Should the Nationalists want a few Tory seats to be won in Scotland to assist the chances of a Conservative Government being formed at Westminster?
or
(2) Should the SNP want no Tory seats in Scotland at all, but still hope for a very small win for the Tories overall in the UK, allowing Salmond a strong hand at the negotiating table?
If there are no Topy MPs but still a Tory UK Government, then the case for separation is crystal clear surely.
But then, the nightmare scenario is Brown, somehow, winning another 4 years of course, regardless of how many Scots Tory MPs there are...
Gah, I love this stuff.
Jeff,
The poll was actually in Saturday's Times, I believe, but I have just got round to writing something on it.
Ah, that explains it, YouGov polls were the furthest thing from my mind as I sipped Estrella on the shores of Barcelona that Saturday.
I would think you would have hoped for a better showing in the Holyrood poll no?
"Others" at 13% on the list vote is great for us "others", but YouGov have overstated the Green vote, so no organic champagne yet..
The LibDems at 9? Are you serious? Just look at the state of them these days.

Everything Gordon touches turns to girn.
STB, have you got any insite into the news that a party employee has allegedly stolen 150k from your scottish hq?!
